  1. How is nougat made? A top quality nougat such as Vital's is an authentic candy, made with freshly whipped egg white. Then, slow-cooked sugars and honey are added, along with almonds and natural vanilla. The warm nougat mass is then spread out in frames between thin layers of wafer. When the nougat has cooled down, it is cut and wrapped for conservation. You can read more about it here   2. Does nougat contain a lot of calories? Well... yes, but it's not all too bad: the energy of nougat can be compared to chocolate: 460kcal per 100g on average. Consequently, moderation is the message!   3. I have diabetes, can I eat nougat? Nougat obviously contains sugars, such as: sucrose (crystal sugar), glucose (a syrup from starch) and pure honey. Therefore, diabetics should take care to fit in nougat in their diet in a balanced way, and to consume it with moderation!   4. I have an allergy. What should I bear in mind?  Here is a summary of the most commonly known allergens per nougat recipe. Are you sensitive to certain ingredients?

(*) = may contain traces, because the product is made on the same machine as another product, that contains nuts.   5. I have gluten intolerance or celiac disease. All our delicacies are gluten free!    6. Is nougat harmful to my teeth? As we all know, products with sugar are indeed harmful for our teeth. However, due to our traditional cooking process, nougat Vital contains very little humidity. Because of this, there is very little activity with the sugars and the honey, which makes nougat Vital hardly sticks to the teeth. Good dental hygiene remains, obviously, very important.   7. Is nougat Vital kosher?   Our recipes are not certified kosher, but they do not contain any ingredient that isn't allowed by kosher laws, as far as we know.   8. Is nougat Vital halal? Our recipes are not certified halal, but they contain no alcohol, no (by)products of meat, nor any other ingredient or additive that might be haram.    Couldn't find the answer to your question?
